Sudden Valley is a small, private community located on the shores of Lake Whatcom, about 9 miles southeast of Bellingham. It is known particularly for its community spirit and beautiful homes, many of which are located up in the forested hills. Sudden Valley also has a community association which oversees maintenance of the neighborhood amenities (including the welcome center, clubhouse, community center, and marina), hosts events, and takes care of all resident forms and board of directors meetings. This neighborhood is also home to the Sudden Valley Golf Course.
